Hello there! This is Emma Hall, your new Diverse Sources intern. It’s my pleasure to be sending you sources each week from the Diverse Sources Database. Now let’s get to it.

Last week, the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. With states now allowed to regulate and ban abortion, the future of reproductive health in America is in limbo. This week’s newsletter is dedicated to this historic decision.

Liza Fuentes is a research scientist at the Guttmacher Institute, a research and policy organization focused on reproductive rights. Fuentes’ studies focus on access to contraception and abortion; abortion restrictions; self-managed abortion; reproductive autonomy; and clinical training in reproductive health. 
 
Fuentes serves on the board of directors for Taller Salud, a Latino community-based organization centered on women’s access to healthcare and violence reduction. She is also on the board of Forward Together, a nonprofit advocating for workers’ rights, economic justice and reproductive justice.

Payal Chakraborty is a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Population Medicine. She specializes in sexual and reproductive health and focuses on reproductive health disparities among LGBTQ individuals. Her research interests include the structures, policies and proposed legislation on sexual and reproductive health outcomes.
