So bit of a life update on my end. From next month, I'm going to be a student again - but only for a short while. Reason being is that for quite some time now, I've been wanting to make a complete 360 and make career change, but haven't really been able to make that final push.
Well a few weeks ago, I decided to say f*ck it, and go for it because I need a change of scenery and something else to stimulate me because what I currently do (copywriting) doesn't stimulate me and also because the marketing industry as a whole is toxic and predatory. So I was like "Nah, I'm done".
So I'll be moving into the world of IT, which I'm really stoked about.
Some food for thought.
last week I was having a hard time concentrating in general and I found my mind wondering a lot. Just a huge lack of motivation you could say, but I saw this and It really picked my mood up, so I thought I share. Once again, It's by Liz and Mollie. As an indie maker, seeing tear downs like these are invaluable, and can provide such valuable insight into what you might be doing wrong or right with your own landing pages, and improve your own conversions.

Part-time creator manifesto. A lot of people get caught on this infatuation with creating your own thing and quitting your your day job, which it perfectly fine to want to do that. But there is also nothing wrong with keeping a side hustle, as just as side hustle. Thats why the word "side" is in there, because you do it on the side (duh).

A story about how starting over can pay off. As a maker, sunk cost fallacy can be a very real thing. For those that don't know, sunk cost fallacy is when we continue a behaviour or endeavour as a result of previously invested resources - this can be time, money or effort. You get the idea. But sometimes starting over can be a good thing.

Don't end the week with nothing. The I found this really retro style blog by Patrick Mckenzie that looks like something straight out of the 90s but still very much alive today. I soon found myself going down the habit hole of all his blog posts. Here is a short snippet from one I really enjoyed.
"I used to be a salaryman at a Japanese megacorporation. The social expectation is that the company insulates the employee from all risk, and in turn, the employee swears themselves body and soul to the company.
I worked 70 to 90 hour weeks for three years. This isn't particularly out of the ordinary for white collar employees in Japan. It didn't strike me while I was a salaryman that I was going to continue doing it until retirement, largely because the amount of work was killing me, and I worked after those hours on my own projects.
