Private House Stays July 2022 Client Newsletter Hello <<First Name>>,
Welcome to our July client newsletter!🌞 Private House Stays has so much industry news to share with you all! We take pride in informing everyone we work with on events and promotions that are beneficial to your businesses. If you’d like to receive more tailored information, then speak to Cassie or one of our team!
We understand that many of you will be very busy, however turning down bookings when you are already booked can be a great disappointment to your prospective guests. Please could we ask you to be more vigilant with updating your availability calendars to avoid disappointment?
The sun has been beating down across the country; we hope you all coped with the heat and your guests were able to enjoy themselves safely in the sun. If you are heading away on holiday yourself, we wish you safe travels and hope you haven't been one of the unlucky ones with all the travel chaos that has been affecting the country. The 150th Open was an amazing few days of sporting excellence; with home favourite Rory McIlroy leading for a large chunk of the last day, everyone's hopes were up. An excellent last round by the Australian Cam Smith clinched the title and rounded out a fantastic event. We hope that all businesses close to St Andrew's were thriving during the week.

Since Easter, VisitScotland has been running a campaign focused on ensuring that both locals and visitors can enjoy Scotland safely. This focuses on issues such as “water safety, fire safety, dog control and the need to adhere to the Scottish Outdoor Access code” Scotland has so much to offer, but for everyone to be able to continue making the most of it all, you have to abide by the rules that are there for safety and conservation. To reach a younger audience, Visit Scotland is planning on working with some of Scotland’s top travel influencers, who will create informative content on the above issues. This has all come about as most people believe that tourism has a positive effect and showcases Scotland's beauty. The latest update is that the campaign will run through to September as an additional £100,000 funding has been made available. You can educate yourself and others by visiting the link below and getting familiar with the Scottish Outdoor Code so that you can offer guidance to any unaware tourists you may come across.

Scottish Thistle Awards National Categories
|
|
With the regional categories closed, attention now moves to the National Categories. If you or anyone you know deserves more recognition, then read on to see what categories are open. Responsible Tourism Award: This is at the heart of the new and improved Scottish Thistle Awards, as the country wants to be a global leader in this category. This category aims to reward businesses and events that have made tangible progress in aligning their company with responsible tourism values. They are aware that people will be in the early stages of implementation, so do not worry if you don’t think you are far enough along. Luxury Experience Award: Are you a host who prides themselves on attention to detail and customer satisfaction? Do you know a company that focuses on unique tour offerings and exclusivity? The winner of this prestigious award will be promoted within The Times. This would be an excellent award to feature on your website, so do not hesitate to apply; this could take you to the next level! The remaining two categories are more focused on event running; if you have delivered an Outstanding Sporting Event or have organised or sponsored a Transformational Business Event, follow those links to apply and get the recognition you deserve. These categories are open for nomination until 19th August 2022.

EY Attractiveness Survey June 2022 |
The latest EY Attractiveness Survey notes that five Scottish cities are ranked in the top 20 UK destinations for FDI (Foreign Direct Investments) outside of London. Edinburgh is ranked top, making it the most popular for investment (not counting London) in the United Kingdom, showing the growth of Scotland in a global setting. “Scotland’s attractiveness ranking in the UK reaches another record level” people view Scotland has the second most attractive place to “establish operations”. This can only lead to a positive increase for tourism businesses. With more global investment and interest more people will visit and explore what great attractions and accommodation are on offer. This is a continuation of an upward trend that has been visible for a number of years.

Why did you choose Private House Stays? Cassie approached us and convinced us of the benefits of putting our property on a smaller site. We had been on Private House Stays before the revamp, and the difference is night and day compared to what it was before. The site is incredibly user friendly, and Cassie and her team care about us succeeding.
How has Private House Stays helped your business? Private House Stays has helped our business. One thing we appreciate is Cassies' connections and willingness to send professionals our way; web designers have improved our website. A significant positive is the embedded calendar widget that we host on our site, it really makes everything easy to manage. An obvious plus is all of the promotional stuff Private House Stays does for the property; it has helped our bookings.
Would you recommend Private House Stays to other owners? Absolutely we would; most people use the massive OTA's but the commissions are so high. The benefit of Private House Stays is the pricing and how caring the team is. Bigger OTA's are faceless corporations where if you have a problem, you are given someone who has no vested interest in solving it as soon as possible. Cassie and her team are approachable and look to fix whatever issues we have as quickly as possible.
It's always nice to know what people are saying about our brand and the brand carrying your name. For a more complete list of testimonials from the members of Private House Stays, please click HERE |

Glenkirk Bed and Breakfast, Loch Ness In the quintessential Scottish village of Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness sits the delightful Glenkirk B&B. Seamlessly suited for the weary traveller, this former village church is furnished with guest comfort in mind. Rated four stars by the Scottish tourist board, it is an excellent destination set against a backdrop of the charmingly scenic Scottish surroundings.
With a guest lounge to absorb the area's ambience, visitors can make the most of the “half-moon window.” Even though the property is a converted church, all modern contraptions are featured in the property, including free WIFI throughout the house and USB sockets in all rooms. You will be able to stay in touch with the outside world while on your Scottish adventure.
With a beautiful front and rear garden, there is lots of space available for guests to enjoy the outdoors while still staying on the property. An excellent feature of the old church is that guests will have a private chair and table to relax outside.
