We were over the moon to receive an award for Commitment to Youth Development
from the Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce🏆. It was fantastic to be together as a team in Musselburgh, with over two hundred people in attendance; it was a memorable evening for us. All dressed for the occasion, we enjoyed a superbly curated evening alongside many exceptional companies.

It was an honour to be nominated among such strong contenders. Cassie and the team were delighted to be recognised for their hard work. As the award is focused on Youth Development, we hope that this acknowledgement will lead to an era of continued growth with our youthful team, who are growing in confidence and are an asset to Private House Stays.🌱

HIT Scotland CEO's Scottish Borders Adventure

Our Copy Writing team have been hard at work creating some incredibly informative blog posts to help and educate property owners on the latest news and events from around the industry. Oliver had the great opportunity to interview the CEO of HIT Scotland, David Cochrane, to talk about his stay at the regal Abbotsford and his visit to Beirhope Alpaca. It is a great showcase of beautiful property and an attraction that is perfect for a spectacular day out. One of our newest team members, Anna Eaton, is doing incredible work creating visuals using the photos sent in by our clients. By sharing her creations on Pinterest and other social media sites, she is working to drive customers toward their businesses.

Visit Scotland Visitor Survey

The latest Visit Scotland Visitor Survey provides the most up-to-date data on Visitor motivations available at the current time. The survey, which is carried out country-wide every half decade, offers unparalleled insight into what draws people to Scotland – information that we can use to highlight the aspects of our properties most likely to draw in guests!

This month, we’re looking at initial reasons for visiting. Respondents were invited to tick as many apply from a list of possible answers, with space open for their own suggestions also. As you can see, the landscape was a key driver in drawing in visitors; also up there were history and culture, and the chance to ‘get away.’

This means, when presenting our properties, it is important to think about the local history we can share, the opportunities guests will have to spend time in nature, and the calming ‘escape’ from everyday life that a short break in Scotland can provide.
