With the weather beginning to cool and the nights getting longer, it is a great time to reflect on the hard work you have been putting in. Private House Stays has seen a successful period of growth that has led to us looking further into the future and the amazing journey that we are on. We can only do this by working with our fantastic clients. Private House Stays would like to take some time to say our deepest condolences go out to the Royal family. We have so much respect and admiration for Queen Elizabeth II; her 70-year reign saw so much change, not only in Britain, but the world. Her essence gave so many people hope, and Her Majesty will be sorely missed. We understand how hard this will be for some of us, and Private House Stays is here to empathise with those in need. The future is King Charles III; from his years of service as the Prince of Wales, we know the Crown is in safe hands. Adam / The Private House Stays Team 🏠

Queen Elizabeth II Funeral? |
Monday, 19 September, will be a sombre day for all; after 70 strong years of reign, the final goodbyes to Her Majesty will take place in London. She will be taken to her final resting place after the State funeral at Westminster Abbey, where dignitaries from all over the world will attend this historic occasion. The newly declared public holiday will mark the end of the Queens lying in state. The Abbey has not been the setting of a funeral for a Monarch since 1760, it was where the Queen married Prince Phillip, whom she will lay beside for eternity. Private House Stays will be paying respects on this date.

Supporting your business? Short Term let License Fee
|
|
The Scottish Government has introduced a licensing regime for short-term lets in Scotland. The scheme will require local authorities to establish a short-term let licensing scheme by 1 October 2022. If you are an existing host or operator (operating before 1 October 2022) you will have to apply for a licence before 1 April 2023. You can continue to receive guests and accept bookings while your application is being determined. After 1 October 2022, new operators of short-term let accommodation must have a licence before taking any bookings. This also applies to existing operators who establish new short-term let accommodation after 1 October 2022.
The type of accommodations you will be required to have a license to operate will include B&Bs, Cottage, Self-Catering Units and Lighthouses, among others. For a complete list, make sure to check out the link below.
On July the 1st, 2024, it will be illegal to operate a short-term accommodation without the proper licence, however before July the 1st, 2024, it will only be illegal to operate under some circumstances the following include, if the accommodation is operating under new ownership whilst their license is still being determined or if their licence has been refused, only in those circumstances will it be illegal to operate.

Why did you choose Private House Stays? I liked how they were focused on helping me grow as a business and I have been with them ever since (for 20 years). I find Cassie incredibly helpful, I do get a bit overwhelmed as everything gets very technical, but if I do have problems, I know that Cassieand the team are close at hand to advise.
How has Private House Stays helped your business? A lot, I am thinking of dropping the other booking site that I use. I am now thinking of just thinking of using Private House Stays to advertise Westfield House as it is affordable, and I am getting all the bookings I want. Would you recommend Private House Stays to other owners? Definitely, I think Private House Stays are keeping up with the times, which is essential for me as I am not the best with technology. Cassie is amazing with all the courses she goes to, and she is very knowledgeable about everything in the hospitality industry. They have the most accessible website to go on, and they have made it very easy to keep track of all the bookings with the integrated calendar and booking system. It's always nice to know what people are saying about our brand and about the brand that is carrying your name.
